The road in Tháp Thượng Hamlet, Song Phượng Commune, Đan Phượng District, is lined with green trees and colourful flowers.

The first step for Quý Hamlet was to install a complete lighting system on all roads. In addition, the hamlet encouraged everyone to participate in environmental cleaning, with households involved in trades or livestock management taking responsibility for cleaning around their homes.

Đào Thị Hồng, Vice Chairwoman of the Đan Phượng District People's Committee, reported that the district has developed model areas for villages and residential groups to be bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe, and smart over the years.

Since 2019, the district has mobilised over VNĐ35 billion (US$1.39 million) to enhance the appearance of villages and hamlets. This includes paintings in the communes of Song Phượng, Thượng Mỗ, and Đan Phượng, as well as the construction of model dykes in Hồng Hà, Hạ Mỗ, Trung Châu, Liên Trung, and Song Phượng communes.

Through this initiative, the district has established over 460 flower routes, painted more than 15,000 square metres of murals and ceramic artworks, and upgraded numerous streets and alleys with asphalt paving, welcome gates, and vibrant decorations.

Notably, many residents have voluntarily donated land to build roads and widen alleys.

Currently, Đan Phượng boasts over 200 villages and residential areas recognised for their achievements in this programme.

Nguyễn Văn Chí, Deputy Director of the Hà Nội New Rural Development Programme Office, stated that Đan Phượng has consistently led the new rural development movement in the city for many years. He highlighted the district’s innovative approach to maintaining environmental cleanliness, noting that it has significantly raised public awareness about protecting their local environment.

He added that Đan Phượng's new rural development experiences are highly commendable and serve as a valuable model for other regions, contributing to making Hà Nội's rural areas more prosperous and livable.
