HCM CITY — HCM City has won the digital government award from the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO).

The city was named among the winners at the ASOCIO Awards 2023 ceremony held in Seoul in the Republic of Korea (RoK) last week within the framework of the ASOCIO Digital Summit 2023.

The award is a recognition of the city’s outstanding performance in implementing digital strategies and solutions to significantly improve the quality of services for people, and openness and transparency in city government operations.

The city has been one of the leading localities in the country in applying smart technology to effectively serve the development of key areas such as transportation, health care, education, and the supply of public services to local residents.

Its government is making continuous efforts to implement digital transformation and build a digital government.

It has exerted innovative methods of providing public services and utilities to people and businesses, contributing to the operational efficiency of the local administration.

The city has set up an information portal, an app and a hotline at 1022 to gather and respond to residents’ opinions and requests.

With outstanding achievements in building a digital government, the city has contributed to improving the quality of life, promoting the city's socio-economic development, and affirming the country's position in the field of digital transformation.

In the coming time, it plans to continue promoting digital government to promote the digital economy and digital society, aiming to turn itself into a smart city.

ASOCIO presented awards to 52 companies and organisations from nine countries and territories at the ASOCIO 2023 World Summit on Digital Government in eight categories, including outstanding tech company, digital transformation, digital government, EdTech, HealthTech, Cybersecurity, ESG (Environmental, social and corporate governance) and start-up. — VNS
