BẮC GIANG – Three members of the same family have died after a fire broke out at their house in Bắc Giang Province.

The blaze started at the property in Sơn Quang Hamlet, Trung Sơn Commune, in the early hours of June 22.

Inside the house were Tống Văn L, 58, his 35-year-old daughter, and his granddaughter, who was just three years old. 

Around 30 firefighters and soldiers rushed to the scene in Việt Yên District after the alarm was raised around 1.30am.

It took two hours to bring the blaze at the two-storey building under control but the three people could not be saved. 

The man was found dead on his stairs and his daughter and grandchild were discovered in the bathroom. 

A neighbour contacted the authorities after he received a frantic call from the family and could hear people screaming. 

The house was also being used as a workshop and is believed to have contained a lot of fabrics.

Việt Yên District police are investigating the cause of the fire. – VNS
