HÀ NỘI — Personnel work must be well prepared from all-level Party congresses to facilitate the 13th National Party Congress slated for next year, said Party General Secretary and State President Nguyễn Phú Trọng on Thursday.
The top leader made the request while addressing a meeting of the sub-committee in charge of personnel affairs for the upcoming National Party Congress in Hà Nội.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân, member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Trần Quốc Vượng, head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Phạm Minh Chính, and head of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Trần Cẩm Tú.
The delegates heard a report reviewing personnel matters of the 12th Party Central Committee and plans for the work for the next tenure.
Party chief Trọng, also head of the sub-committee, lauded their efforts in preparing reports and proposals presented at the meeting, describing them as the foundation for building personnel orientations for the 13th National Party Congress.
The 12th plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee, slated for May this year, will debate personnel orientations for the upcoming congress, he said, stressing this is one of the two most crucial matters of each congress.
According to the leader, relevant draft documents have been sent to grassroots Party organisations for feedback.
“The personnel work must be considered a task of special significance and a key one as it relates to the survival of the Party and the regime,” he said, ordering each agency, locality and official engaging in preparations to be fully aware of their responsibility.
The personnel affairs of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat require a strict, scientific and consistent process to ensure democracy, fairness, purity and objectivity, Trọng said.
The leader asked members of the sub-committee and its supporting group to seriously observe working principles, saying the group needs to work with the Organisation Commission to collect feedback of the sub-committee and complete the report to submit it to the Politburo. — VNS
