HÀ NỘI — The British Ambassador to Việt Nam, Gareth Ward, on Monday sent a message to express gratitude to the Vietnamese Government for supporting British visitors in tough times due to the spread of COVID-19.

The British Embassy hopes to work together with the Vietnamese Government in stopping the spread of COVID-19, which is the most difficult task facing Việt Nam at the moment.

“During the last couple of weeks, we have been helping many British visitors who have been affected by the new quarantine measures in Việt Nam,” he said.

“I’d like to thank all of the doctors and nurses and all of the Government officials in Việt Nam who helped us to support British visitors during this time,” he added.

Ward also assures that the Embassy will continue to work closely with the Vietnamese Government, do its best to combat COVID-19 and aid those in need during these exceptional times.

As of March 16, thirteen British visitors have tested positive for COVID-19 in Việt Nam and are being treated in hospitals. A 69-year-old patient is in critical condition and is currently in intensive care. — VNS
