HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính had a meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian City, China’s Liaoning Province.

PM Chính said that Việt Nam always follows and is delighted at the socio-economic achievements that Poland has recorded over the years, affirming that it attaches great importance to the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with the European country and always remembers the valuable support and assistance that Poland provided during its struggle for national construction and defence.

PM Chính thanked Poland for supporting Vietnamese citizens affected by the shopping centre fire in Warsaw in May.

The two sides shared the delight at the positive development of the Việt Nam-Poland relationship in many areas. Heading to the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (1950-2025), they agreed to promote bilateral relations to a new height in the coming time.

The Vietnamese Government leader proposed that the two countries continue beefing up their partnership through strengthening the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially the high level, increasing visits of officials via the Party channel, and promoting economic, trade, investment, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

He pledged that Việt Nam will provide optimal conditions for the import of goods of Poland’s strengths such as machineries and ships.

The two sides should speed up the signing of a loan agreement for the project of building six new offshore search and rescue ships for which the Polish Government has committed to granting preferential credit to Việt Nam, said the leader, adding that Việt Nam hopes for Poland’s support in human resources training in the fields of basic training and shipbuilding.

PM Chính suggested that Poland continue to create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to settle down, integrate well into the host society, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of Poland and the sound traditional friendship between Việt Nam and Poland.

For his part, Polish President Andrzej Duda expressed his impression at Việt Nam's socio-economic achievements, underlining that Việt Nam is Poland's current biggest partner in Southeast Asia. He hailed the contributions by the Vietnamese community in Poland.
