HÀ NỘI – Vietnamese junior contestants have just won several prizes at the Lansum International Music Festival and the Los Angeles Young Musicians International Competition in the United States.
At the annual Lansum International Music Festival, Vietnamese contestants won 22 prizes, including six first prizes won by Trần Minh Châu (in the 12 year-old group), who won three first prizes; Trương Thị Ngân Hà (13), who won two first prizes and Phan Thiên Bạch Anh (13), who won one first prize.
The team won seven second, five third and four encouragement prizes at the same contest. This festival was first organised last year. This year, 100 contestants from the United States, China and Việt Nam participated.
At the Young Musicians International Competition, the fifth of its kind, 106 contestants from the United States, China, Canada and Russia, besides Belarus, France and Việt Nam competed in six categories for children between the ages of seven and 18.
Phan Thiên Bạch Anh (13 years old) won a third prize, while Trương Thị Ngân Hà (13) and Trần Minh Châu (12) won two encouragement prizes.
Việt Nam had sent contestants to the two contests for the first time.
The Vietnamese team had seven contestants between the ages of nine and 18, all students at the Việt Nam Music Academy. – VNS
