Glenn Phillips, 44, a former editor at Việt Nam News, died on August 9 while on a motorbike trip in the Himalayas.
Việt Nam News sends its deepest sympathy to his family.
His partner announced on her Facebook page that she and Phillips, who lived in Ha Noi, were in India riding in the Himalayas. Phillips became sick and collapsed on August 9. Local efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
Phillips worked at the newspaper from 2001 to 2003. He edited articles and stories for the Lifestyle section. He coined the name of the Culture Vulture column, which enjoys great popularity with its catchy title.
Even after leaving the paper, he was always ready to help edit VNS articles such as travel columns and features.
“We will never forget Glenn’s good character and quality editing,” said Editor-in-Chief, Trịnh Thanh Thuỷ. -- VNS
