HÀ NỘI — The Voice of Việt Nam (VOV) has officially launched a new Korean radio programme to mark the 26th anniversary of the Việt Nam-South Korea diplomatic relationship (1992-2018).
Speaking at the launch ceremony on Tuesday, VOV President Nguyễn Thế Kỷ emphasised that the launch of the Korean radio programme reflected the respect of VOV and Việt Nam for the relationship between the two countries.
Kỷ said that in the coming time, the leadership of VOV’s foreign relations department would co-operate more closely with other partners to improve the South Korean language broadcasting programme. It will become a bridge to the South Korean community in Việt Nam and strengthen co-operation between the two countries.
VOV Korean started broadcasting on August 7, 2018 as a trial on frequency 105.5 MHz from 7am to 8am, 6pm to 7pm and 11pm to midnight daily, and on the website vovworld.vn.
The contents of the radio programme include general news, comments on current affairs, teaching Vietnamese and Korean language, and introductions on culture, ethnicity, tourism, economics and many other areas.
This March, the Korean language officially appeared on the website vovworld.vn. This is the thirteenth language of VOV5, making it one of the most popular foreign language channels in the country. — VNS
