ĐỒNG NAI On May 11, the Đồng Nai Province Police announced that they had identified the cause of the steam boiler explosion at the Bình Minh Wood Production and Trading Limited Company (located in Vàm Hamlet, Thiện Tân Commune, Vĩnh Cửu District), which resulted in six deaths and five injuries.
Based on documents and evidence collected, the Đồng Nai Provincial Police Investigative Agency determined that the company's steam boiler safety certificate had expired since November 26, 2022, and the compressed gas cylinder's technical safety certificate had expired since January 5, 2024.
The cause of the explosion was due to the steam boiler and compressed gas cylinder having safety certificates expired, but the company did not conduct re-inspections as required, still put them into operation and production.
A man named Feng Yong is responsible for the installation of the steam boiler and managed all activities of the Bình Minh Wood Production and Trading Limited Company. Therefore, the actions of Feng Yong show signs of the crime "violation of labour safety regulations."
On May 9, 2024, the Đồng Nai Province Police Investigative Agency initiated legal proceedings, prosecuted the accused, and issued a temporary detention order for Feng Yong (born in 1985, Chinese nationality, director of Bình Minh Wood Production and Trading Limited Company) to investigate the crime of "violation of labour safety regulations," as stipulated in Article 295 of the 2015 Penal Code.
The Đồng Nai Province Police Investigative Agency is investigating the case to determine the responsibility of individuals involved.
