HCM CITY — Public transport buses have again started dropping off and picking up passengers at the Tân Sơn Nhất Airport domestic terminal in HCM City.
They used to do so until 2019 when the airport moved the bus stop to the international terminal around 300 metres away to ease congestion on the roads.
Now, since Monday, route numbers 152 and 72-1 have again been allowed into the domestic terminal’s lane B, which was earlier meant for personal cars.
They first drop off and pick up people at the international terminal before entering the domestic terminal, and head towards Bình Chánh District’s Trung Sơn Residential Area (route 152) and Vũng Tàu City Bus Station (route 72-1).
Nguyễn Thị Thúy, a resident of Bình Chánh District, told Người Lao Động (The Labourer) newspaper that on April 18 she was able to easily get bus number 152 in the domestic terminal rather than have to walk to the international terminal.
The Tết (Lunar New Year) holidays earlier this year saw a massive shortage of taxis and a huge number of arrivals, and people had to wait for hours to get a taxi home.
During the upcoming National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays, Tân Sơn Nhất is expected to have 643 flights and over 73,200 passengers every day. — VNS
