HÀ NỘI — The 13th Party Central Committee has agreed to permit Đinh Tiến Dũng, a member of the Political Bureau and head of the Hà Nội deputy delegation to the 15th National Assembly, to cease holding leadership positions and stop working.
The decision was made at the Party Central Committee’s meeting in Hà Nội on Friday to discuss personnel affairs.
Dũng was a senior official of the Party and the State, entrusted by the Party Central Committee and the Political Bureau with several important leadership positions at both central and local levels. He upheld a high sense of responsibility, contributing significantly to the overall achievements of the agencies and localities where he worked.
However, according to a report from the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission, during his 2016-2021 term as Secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Finance and Minister of Finance, Dũng violated regulations on what Party members must not do, rules on the responsibility of setting examples, and working regulations. He was found to have neglected his leadership and direction responsibilities, letting the Party Civil Affairs Committee, the Ministry of Finance, and some organisations and individuals commit violations and shortcomings, cause severe consequences and negative public opinions, and harm the credibility of the Party organisation and state management agency. Fully being aware of his responsibilities before the Party, the people, Dũng submitted an application to cease holding the assigned positions and to stop working.
Based on the current regulations of the Party and the State and considering his wish, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Dũng cease holding positions as a member of the Political Bureau and member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
Also at the meeting, the Party Central Committee gave opinions on personnel for the Political Bureau to recommend to the 15th National Assembly for election to the 15th NA Standing Committee. — VNS
