HÀ NỘI — Diva Hồng Nhung has released a new album comprising 10 songs for children as a way to bring her and audiences back to childhood.
With the title My Childhood, the CD contains popular songs written by famous composers of Vietnamese children’s music.
“With this album, I want to recall beautiful memories of mine and other people’s childhood. The CD is also a gift for my children who are American-Vietnamese, it reminds them of their origins,” said singer Nhung.
“I hope that both young listeners and growns-up like this album. I know that people often listen to music on digital platforms but I still want to publish the album. It’s like when e-books are available but we still respect the feeling of holding a printed book in our hands,” she added.
Nhung said that memories of childhood often return to her in dreams, both happy and sad ones.
“Nurturing the beautiful soul and emotions of children is very important in shaping their personality,” she said.
All the popular songs in this album like Chú Ếch Con (Little Frog) and Đi Học (Going to School) are remixed by musician Hồng Kiên embracing modern rhythms and spirit of contemporary life.
Kiên said that an idea of the album started from the In the Spotlight concert organised by Mỹ Thanh Company in 2017. With the theme of My Childhood, the concert touched people’s hearts and left unforgettable experiences for singer Hồng Nhung. That’s the reason why she decided to remix the children’s songs and publish the CD.
