HCM CITY — Twenty-five professional troupes will take part in the 2nd Kylin-Dragon Dance Festival this week at Văn Lang Park in HCM City’s District 5.
The troupes from the city and neighbouring provinces of Đồng Nai, Long An and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu will put up more than 30 performances.
A record 108 kylins - with two performers - will perform at 9pm on December 28.
The troupes will also display kylin heads and other items used in kylin and dragon dances.
Members of dragon and kylin dance teams will meet and discuss their performing techniques.
Traditional medicine practitioners will introduce to visitors popular medicines used to treat common diseases.
The festival from December 28 to 30 is part of the city’s efforts to promote itself as an attractive, friendly and safe tourist destination.
It is organised by the Department of Tourism and District 5. — VNS
