“A highlight at the festival will be Mường Lò Beauty Contest on the night of October 12, street marching by 100 artists and locals on October 13 and an art show on October 13,” he said.

Tourists will have a chance to experience a heritage journey starting from 9.30am, October 13 at Pú Trạng Airport, Nghĩa Lộ Town and ending in the afternoon of October 14 at Khao Mang Commune, Mù Cang Chải District.

Participants will enjoy spectacular landscapes at Suối Giàng, Tú Lệ (Văn Trấn District), Xà Rèn Village (Nghĩa Lộ Town), Khau Phạ Pass, local hills (La Pán Tẩn Commune) and Chế Cu Nha (Mù Cang Chải District). They will join locals in various daily activities like harvesting rice, kayaking and making traditional dishes.

Mù Cang Chải terrace rice fields made by the Mông ethnic group cover more than 2,000 ha in local mountains. They attract thousands of visitors each year.

In 2007, 500ha of field in three communes of La Pán Tẩn, Chế Cu Nha and Dế Xu Phình were ranked as a national relic site. — VNS
