HÀ NỘI — A movie by French director Olivier Assayas and French producer Charles Gillibert as well as Vietnamese producer Lý Nhã Kỳ will compete at the upcoming Venice Film Festival in the Best Film category.
The film has been nominated for the Golden Lion prize for Best Film.
The movie, titled ‘Non Fiction’ (previously ‘Ebook’, and in French ‘Doubles Vies’) is a tragicomedy about the mid-life crises of two men – editor Alain (played by Guillaume Canet) and writer Leonard (by Vincent Macaigne).
They face growing challenges in the field of publishing and have to meet the demands of their wives (played by Juliette Binoche and Nora Hamzawi).
This year, Lý Nhã Kỳ has been involved in on other film, namely ‘Angel Face’. ’Angel Face’ by director Vanessa Filho was nominated in the Un Certain Regard, the second biggest prize after the Golden Palm prize at Cannes Film Festival held between May 8 and 19, 2018.
The Venice Film Festival will take place in Venice, Italy between August 29 and September 8. — VNS
