HCMCITY— Dozens of bands from cultural houses and centres in HCM City are participating in a four-day music festival at Sen Hồng (Pink Lotus) Stage focusing on youth and patriotism.
The event, Tiếng Hát Từ Thành Phố Mang Tên Bác Hồ (Voice of HCM City), celebrates the 71st anniversary of National Day on September 2.
It features more than 300 amateur and professional singers, dancers and musicians. Revolutionary music and dances by famous composers and choreographers have been featured.
Young artists from HCM City’s outlying districts of Củ Chi, Bình Chánh and Hóc Môn have been performing songs praising the country, soldiers and late President Hồ Chí Minh.
The event’s organiser, the city’s Department of Culture and Communication, in co-operation with its partners, will present scholarships worth several millions đồng to children of soldiers.
The festival’s awards ceremony will be held at 8:00pm Thursday night. It is expected to attract more than 1,500 people. — VNS
