HÀ NỘI — A two-day cultural festival will be held this weekend in Hà Nội offering people a chance to experience South Korean Culture.

The Korean Cultural Road Festival is co-organised by the Korean embassy and Korean Cultural Centre at Đỗ Nhuận Street, Xuân Đỉnh Ward, Bắc Từ Liêm District.

The festival has a series of activities including a cuisine experience with a range of Korean products such as fruits, ginseng and other traditional Korean dishes. Along with various culinary events, there are Korean folk games and festival-goers will have the chance to try on the traditional Hanbok clothing.

"Culture is important to connect people of Việt Nam and Korea," said Ambassador Choi Youngsam.

"Korean embassy to Việt Nam will organise more cultural exchanges in the future at the stone road behind the embassy, aiming at popularising this nice place in daily life for Hanoians and promoting relationships between the people."

The climax of the festival will be performance of Korean National Taekwondo Team from Korean Taekwondo Association at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Korean fusion gugak singer Cho Joo Han and Vietnamese singer Hoàng Dũng and UNIK dance group will charm festival-goers with stunning performances.

Choo is a musical actor. He debuted in 2015 with a role in the musical Mr Show and later earned roles in other productions such as Seopyeonje and Those Days.

He will perform fusion gugak which is a style of Korean music that modernises the sound of "gugak" (traditional Korean Folk Music and Korean Classical Music) by combining it with musical elements taken from contemporary styles of popular music and Western music.

Singer and songwriter Hoàng Dũng has been captivating audiences with his unique style of music since he first started his career in 2007. He is known for his unique blend of rock and pop music which combines elements of traditional Vietnamese folk music with modern production techniques.

This year, a photo booth area will introduce Korean destinations in the Local 100 project launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, boosting Korean tourism.

About 200 underprivileged children will attend the festival for the first time with SOS Children's Villages in Việt Nam.

The festival was first held in 2022 with the participation of over 8,000 attendees, and 20,000 last year. — VNS
