Đồng Nai — The Nature Conservation Zone in the southern province of Đồng Nai confirmed the death of another bull today.

This is the second bull to die in the last three weeks at the reserve, according to director Trần Văn Mùi.

Rangers discovered the dead bull in the sanctuary’s forest on Sunday and reported it to the reserve authority.

The black bull weighed some 800kg. Its body was intact. Only two skin lacerations on the right shoulder and a wound on the abdomen were found during the post-mortem examination.

Based on the findings of the initial investigation, the bull died of old age, Mùi said. They did not find any marks that could be linked to the death of the bull, he said.

Earlier, police in Vĩnh Cửu District had arrested two people for shooting a bull, weighing some 200kg.

The bull is on the list of endangered species in Việt Nam’s Red Book, making it illegal to exploit and use them for commercial purposes. — VNS
