HCM CITY — The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives on Tuesday signed an agreement with Grab Company Limited to offer consumers new experiences on the technology platform ranging from shopping and mobile payment to delivery.

Under the agreement, delivery service GrabExpress and food delivery service GrabFood will be available for delivery from all Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets in HCM City from the end of this year.

They will be expanded nation-wide next year.

Moca wallet available on the Grab app will be accepted across Saigon Co.op's retail system comprising Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smiles, and Cheers.

The partnership will increase the convenience for customers of both parties, reduce cash payments and promote digitisation in the retail and logistics sectors.

Nguyễn Anh Đức, permanent deputy general director of Saigon Co.op, said developing services based on technology is also one of the co-operative’s top priorities.

By co-operating with Grab, it hopes to offer more convenience, savings and safety while shopping to millions of customers at more than 800 of its stores, he said.

Saigon Co.op's retail system comprising shopping malls and large and small convenience stores covers most retail segments in more than 43 provinces and cities, and receives more than one million customers daily.
