On Thursday a press conference in the province announcing the forum was held by the provincial People's Committee, the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) and the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA).

At the "Business Connection Forum: Industrial, Trading and High-tech Agriculture EuroCham - Bình Phước 2024," which will be will be co-ordinated by Hùng Nhơn Group, De Heus Group (Netherlands) and the Vietnam High-tech Agriculture Club (DAA), high-ranking diplomats from numerous nations, including the Netherlands, Australia, Hungary, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Malaysia, will be in attendance, along with Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Việt Nam. 

More than 100 executives from businesses that are members of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Việt Nam (AusCham) and EuroCham will also be present at the upcoming forum.

Speaking at a press conference, Huỳnh Anh Minh, deputy chairman of the Bình Phước Provincial People's Committee and deputy head of the forum organising board, said: “The forum will be an opportunity for Bình Phước province to introduce and promote its potential and preferential policies”.

He expected that many reputable businesses and strategic investors with significant financial and technological potential will then invest in industry, commerce and high-tech agriculture in accordance with the province’s socio-economic development plan.

Lê Viết Bình, deputy chief of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s administrative office, emphasised that EuroCham’s member companies have strong technological and financial capabilities, and that Europe is a promising market for Việt Nam’s agricultural sector. As a result, their investments have not only helped develop the province’s agriculture sustainably but also contributed to its socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, Gabor Fluit, chairman of EuroCham Việt Nam and deputy head of the forum organising board, told the press conference that with more than 1,300 members, EuroCham is one of the biggest foreign business associations in Việt Nam. EuroCham and its members have firmly supported the green transition and acknowledged the significance of sustainable growth.

“For EuroCham members, the forum will open up opportunities to get access to valuable information, have a comprehensive picture of the regional economy, its planned development projects and growth potential,” he said, adding that “based on the information, they will develop a strategic vision to explore new investment opportunities in Bình Phước."

According to Vũ Mạnh Hùng, vice president of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) and deputy head of the forum organising board, there will be a number of events for attendees on the sidelines of the forum, including tours of the province’s industrial zones and clusters, a display of local products, and  a gala dinner.

He also revealed that at the upcoming forum, the Bình Phước Provincial People's Committee, VIDA and EuroCham are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will formalise their co-operation in digitising the agricultural sector in Bình Phước province.

The forum has received enthusiastic support and sponsorship from domestic and international enterprises.

Specifically, diamond sponsorships include Hùng Nhơn Corporation, De Heus Group (Netherlands), and Becamex Bình Phước Industrial Park.

Gold sponsorships consist of CPV Food Company Limited, Big Dutchman Vietnam, Minh Hưng Sikico Industrial Park, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (Agribank), and Minh Anh Company.
