HCM CITY — Big C supermarket chain has promised to keep prices of 11,300 fast moving consumer goods steady from now until Tết (the Lunar New Year).
The supermarket will keep the prices unchanged even if other supermarkets increase them, but reduce them in case others do.
But the fruits and vegetables, fresh and frozen foods, beer and wine, and milk and milk-based products are not covered.
Prices usually become volatile during the peak shopping season during Tết, and so the programme will help customers shop economically and keep the market steady.
In another programme, the supermarket is offering discounts of up to 50 per cent on thousands of products like confectionery, jams, wines and beers, beverages, Tết decoration items, household appliances, electronic products, clothes and others until January 24. — VNS
