Pioneering technology raising users’ satisfaction

The 3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) machine is designed to extract used oil, pump in new oil, and process payments automatically, providing optimal convenience for consumers. Users can easily change their oil with a seamless operation of the machine. Specifically, the 3R machine stores all information and the history of oil changes and calculates specific details for each motorcycle model. Payments are processed automatically through various cashless payment methods, enhancing the one-touch experience for customers.

By using the 3R machine, customers can save over 30% on the typical cost of an oil change. CEO of AP Saigon Petro, Nguyen Bao Trung, explained that automation and the optimization of oil changes for each motorbike model, along with the significant reduction in the use of plastic containers, result in lower costs for each oil change. “These savings are particularly meaningful for regular motorcycle riders, such as motorbike taxi drivers and ride-hailing drivers,” Trung said.

Breakthrough in reuse and recycling for sustainable development goals

Unlike current oil change devices that focus solely on efficiency, the 3R machine incorporates technology to collect used oil for recycling. Detailed calculations of oil use for different motorcycle models help optimize consumption and reduce oil waste.

In Vietnam, over 70 million motorcycles consume nearly 200 million liters of oil annually, releasing approximately 100 million liters of used oil into the environment. The 3R machine collects used oil on-site, ensuring a safe treatment process to prevent environmental pollution. The collected used oil is then recycled into other industrial products, contributing to greater resource efficiency.

The 3R machine also helps reduce the use of plastic oil containers. Every year, motorcycle workshops produce over 200 million plastic containers, equating to 12,000 tones of plastic waste. The use of the 3R machine could significantly reduce this plastic waste, helping AP Saigon Petro achieve its target of reducing plastic bottle usage. With a market share of 10-20%, AP Saigon Petro could help eliminate 1,200–2,400 tones of plastic waste annually.

As a result, the 3R machine is not only effective in oil changes but also a pioneer as a sustainable, environmentally friendly product. Compact (occupying just seven square meters), the machine can be easily installed in shopping centers, industrial parks, universities, or public areas, helping businesses increase productivity, reduce errors, and improve customer satisfaction.

The motorcycle maintenance industry is thus entering a new era where technology and sustainability go hand in hand, benefiting both consumers and the environment.
