As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. Currently, around 350 staffs are deployed in Vietnam, including national and international personnel and development workers, as well as integrated experts. Taking care of the health conditions of approximately 275 national personnel, beside the mandatory state social health insurance benefits, GIZ has offered an additional health insurance package with more health benefits to the national personnel since 2010. Besides, according to the Vietnamese labor regulation, GIZ as an employer has provided its national personnel with an annual health check-up as well.

This year, GIZ Vietnam would like to work with an eligible and professional insurance company, which has outstanding reputation in this area and is able to provide GIZ with an additional health insurance package and an annual health check-up for 275 GIZ National personnel in 2023 and 2024, which are similar to or even better than our current insurance package. In this context, GIZ Hanoi Office intends to conduct a public tender and award the contract to the most eligible, competent and best value for money insurance company to provide services.

Willis Towers Watson (WTW) continues being the authorized insurance broker for GIZ Vietnam and will assist GIZ Vietnam in the review of bidding quotations, technical assessment and negotiation on behalf of GIZ Vietnam but GIZ Vietnam will take the final decision for contract awarding.

Interested insurance companies should send an expression of interest containing:

1.    Letter of interest (with director’s signature and company stamp)

2.    Company profile including: copy of business license; tax code registration; company organisational chart; dedicated service team (including claim service) profile (brief); list of services; list of representative offices/branches in Vietnam; year of experience in healthcare insurance service; market share in insurance market and in healthcare insurance lines

3.    Credential in related field: list of major clients in healthcare insurance along with at least 3 reference contacts (name, position, telephone, email address) of similarly comparable clients, specially from international companies/organisations; copy of 3 similar contracts in the past and/or is going to be signed)

4.    Financial key data; Copy of audited financial report of the last 3 years (incl. balance sheet, income statement, cashflow statement, tax liquidation). Important/key information in audited financial reports or annual tax reports (if documents only in Vietnamese) must be translated into English language.
