HÀ NỘI — South Korea topped the podium at the Việt Nam International Judo Championship, which ended in HCM City on October 30.

The Korean athletes pocketed 10 gold and three bronze medals following two days of competitions at the Tôn Đức Thắng College’s Gymnasium.

Việt Nam came second with four titles, while HCM City as the hosts were third with one gold.

In a separate event for athletes with disabilities, Hong Kong were on top, followed by India and Thailand, respectively.

The organisers also presented a cup for the best martial artist to Choi Hee-jun of South Korea in the men’s category and Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hân of Việt Nam in the women’s event. In its second edition, the championship is recognised as an official competition of the Southeast Asian Judo Federation. — VNS
