HÀ NỘI – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s official visit to Việt Nam has been rescheduled for March 22-23.
The official had been scheduled to arrive on Monday, but the trip was postponed for an undisclosed reason.
The visit will be made at the invitation of Vietnamese Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh.
Việt Nam and Russia have enjoyed growing ties in all fields, especially economy.
Since the Việt Nam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement took effect on October 5, 2016, two-way trade between Việt Nam and Russia has grown rapidly, reaching US$3.56 billion in 2017, up 29 per cent from the previous year.
Russia has to date registered to invest almost $982.9 million in 117 projects in Việt Nam, ranking 22nd among countries and territories investing in the Southeast Asian country.
Meanwhile, Việt Nam has invested in18 projects in Russia worth a total $2.4 billion. — VNS
