PVcomBank appoints new general director

PvcomBank’s managing board has appointed Nguyễn Hoàng Nam as the bank’s general director, effective from November 21, with approval from the central bank.

HÀ NỘI – PvcomBank’s managing board has appointed Nguyễn Hoàng Nam as the bank’s general director, effective from November 21, with approval from the central bank.

Born in 1975, Nam had been the bank’s deputy general director and acting general director.

PVcomBank said Nam had closely directed its units to complete important functions while improving its systems to become a modern commercial bank. He also focused on expanding the bank’s network and developing diversified products to serve customers better.

The appointment is expected to help PVcomBank realise its goals and strategies. 

Prior to joining PVcomBank, Nam has held key positions in Techcombank and Northern Airport Corporation. He was also head of business strategy and renewal department and director of credit department at PetroVietnam Finance Corporation.

PetroVietnam is a majority shareholder of PVcomBank, with 52 per cent of shares, while Morgan Stanley is a strategic shareholder, with 6.7 per cent of shares.

This year the bank targeted a pre-tax profit of VNĐ65 billion.

PVcomBank has 101 branches nationwide. Its chartered capital is VNĐ9 trillion (US$428.5million) and its total assets are VNĐ100 trillion ($4.76billion). — VNS
