HCM City gov’t to recruit 14 experts, scientists

The HCM City People’s Committee has issued a recruitment plan to attract experts and scientists to fill 14 positions in its departments and agencies this year.

HCM CITY — The HCM City People’s Committee has issued a recruitment plan to attract experts and scientists to fill 14 positions in its departments and agencies this year.

The city seeks to fill one position in the city’s Department of Planning and Investment, three positions on the Hi-Tech Agricultural Zone Management Board, five positions on the Saigon High-Tech Park (SHTP) Management Board, and five positions at the Institute for Computational Science and Technology (ICST) in the city’s Department of Science and Technology.

Besides a monthly basic salary, the city will provide an initial subsidy of VNĐ100 million (US$$4,315) to each selected scientist and expert after they sign a labour contract.

Each selected expert and scientist working at the SHTP Management Board and ICST will receive an incentive allowance of one per cent of the cost for each research project, but not less than VNĐ50 million ($2,150) and no more than VNĐ1 billion ($43,150)per person per research project.

All of the selected experts and scientists must have enough ability to meet the city’s requirements. Candidates must have clear background information, not be subject to criminal prosecution, have good health, and have full capacity for civil service acts. They are not subject to entry bans or restriction in accordance with Vietnamese law if they are foreigners.

The city’s current cadres and civil servants are not allowed to participate in this recruitment.

In 2018, the committee approved a new policy that will help attract experts and scientists to work for the local government, particularly in the fields of IT, biotech, logistics, nanotech and the support industry in the 2018-20 period.

The city aims to select the most suitable experts who can help develop high-tech zones, economic zones and industrial zones. — VNS
