Cold spell to hit northern Việt Nam

A cold spell is forecasted to hit the country's northern region on Monday, bringing heavy rain and lowering temperatures.

HÀ NỘI — A cold spell is forecasted to hit the country's northern region on Monday, bringing heavy rain and lowering temperatures.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the cold spell started affecting northern mountainous provinces on Monday morning, and will move south and engulf the northern delta region by Monday evening.

North-central localities will also feel the cold weather.

Rain is predicted in northern localities from Monday evening.

Downpours and thunderstorms are forecast in central provinces from Thanh Hóa to Thừa Thiên-Huế.

Provinces in the north western and northern eastern areas will experience temperatures of as low as 15 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in the mountainous areas will be below 15 degrees Celsius.

Hà Nội will have light rain and temperatures ranging between 16 to 26 degrees Celsius. — VNS
