Central province approves education project

The central province of Quảng Nam has approved a detailed plan for the International Education City-Nam Hội An project on 60ha in coastal Thăng Bình district with total investment of VNĐ1.5 trillion (US$66.4 million).

QUẢNG NAM — The central province of Quảng Nam has approved a detailed plan for the International Education City-Nam Hội An project on 60ha in coastal Thăng Bình district with total investment of VNĐ1.5 trillion (US$66.4 million).

The province said the project, which started a pre-feasibility study for development in 2018, would start construction later this year for official launching in 2021.

It said the education project will offer international-standard education programmes from kindergarten to post-graduation level for 12,000 students from 2022, aiming at promoting human resources training for the central region and a rendezvous for international education exchanges among students and universities worldwide.

According to the project owner, Nguyễn Hoàng Group, it’s the second project the group has developed in central Việt Nam after Quảng Ngãi Province

The group has been co-operating in education with universities in the UK and the US including Sài Gòn Academy (SGA), i-school, bilingual United Kingdom Academy (UKA) and School of North America (SNA) serving education in central Việt Nam.

The HCM City-based group said it has developed 40 international education centres to serve 40,000 students in 15 provinces and cities in Việt Nam over the past 10 years.

Quảng Nam has developed six universities and colleges in engineering, health, vocational training and economics. — VNS
