Fifteen new high-quality buses with capacity of 60 seats each will be put into operation on two routes in Hà Nội from Thursday. According to the Hà Nội Transport Service Company (Transerco), the new buses will run on routes 55A (Cầu Giấy-Times City) and 55B (Cầu Giấy-Aeon Mall Trade Centre)

HÀ NỘI  Fifteen new high-quality buses with capacity of 60 seats each will be put into operation on two routes in Hà Nội from Thursday.

According to the Hà Nội Transport Service Company (Transerco), the new buses will run on routes 55A (Cầu Giấy-Times City) and 55B (Cầu Giấy-Aeon Mall Trade Centre).

The buses are painted blue, have a logo and offer conveniences such as advanced emission standards, free WiFi, Light Emitting Diode bulletin boards showing routes and a Global Positioning System (GPS) that announces stops.

Routes 55A and 55B run every 15 to 20 minutes from 5am to 9pm everyday with ticket price of VNĐ7,000 (US$0.3) per trip.

A leading Transerco official said since early this year, the company has launched 166 new buses to provide more cheap and convenient means of public transport for the capital’s citizens.

From Thursday, Transerco will expand the itinerary of 22A (Gia Lâm bus station-Big C Thăng Long Trade Centre), 22B (Kiến Hưng Urban Area-Mỹ Đình coach station) and 22C (Giáp Bát coach station-Dương Nội Urban Area of The Sparks Nam Cường apartment building) routes.

Nguyễn Hoàng Hải, director of the Hà Nội Urban Traffic Management Centre, said the route changes were aimed at better accessibility to urban areas and transport of passengers to promote operation of Bus Rapid Transit route Kim Mã-Yên Nghĩa. – VNS
