HÀ NỘI — The Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union is calling for support for its programme, a "Million bags of social security," which aims to help people in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
All units under the management of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), and the Việt Nam Youth Federation (VYF) have been making their best efforts to take care of people affected by the pandemic, in the spirit of “leaving no one behind.”
Programmes implemented in response to the pandemic launched by the Central Committee of the HCYU and the VYF include "Share affection, join hands to overcome the pandemic," "Sharing affection," "Zero-đồng stalls," "Singing to share," and "Millions of meals."
The pandemic is becoming more and more complicated and seriously affecting all aspects of society, especially vulnerable groups, simple workers, and the poor living in localities implementing social distancing measures.
Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Central Committee of the HCYU has implemented the programme "Million bags of social security" to continue accompanying and helping poor people and disadvantaged groups to overcome this difficult period.
Each "Social security bag" consists of food or a basic medicine bag for COVID-19 prevention. All "Social security bags" will be given directly to the receivers by the HCYU, the VYF, in close coordination with the authorities and the Việt Nam Fatherland Front in the locality, ensuring the right audience, transparency, and complying with regulations on prevention of COVID-19.
The Secretariat of the Central Committee of the HCYU is now calling for supports from all people to join hands in the program "Million bags of social security."
