CapitaLand Vietnam and Surbana Jurong signs MOU to collaborate and develop sustainable and smart city solutions

Ho Chi Minh City, 19 December 2019 - CapitaLand Vietnam and Surbana Jurong have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the aim to collaborate and develop sustainable and smart city solutions for CapitaLand Vietnam’s real estate projects in the future

Ho Chi Minh City, 19 December 2019 - CapitaLand Vietnam and Surbana Jurong have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the aim to collaborate and develop sustainable and smart city solutions for CapitaLand Vietnam’s real estate projects in the future.

Through the MOU, CapitaLand Vietnam will be able to leverage the technical consultancy capabilities of Surbana Jurong, in areas such as master planning, quantity surveying, project management as well as urban, architectural and engineering design. CapitaLand Vietnam can also tap on Surbana Jurong’s varied experience, especially in areas of township, industrial and commercial projects.

Mr Teo Eng Cheong, CEO, International of Surbana Jurong said: “Surbana Jurong is able to harness our unique experience and expertise to plan and design sustainable and smart projects of different nature and scale. Some of these projects include the New Clark City in The Philippines, Microsoft ZiZhu Campus in Shanghai, Guangming Smart City in Shenzhen and Pimpri Chinchwad Smart City, adjoining Pune City in the state of Maharashtra in India. The MOU echoes Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc’s call on CapitaLand to deepen its value creation through real estate, to develop smart and environmentally-friendly projects and contribute to Vietnam’s development.  CapitaLand’s Chairman, Mr Ng Kee Choe met Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc to reaffirm CapitaLand's long-term commitment in Vietnam on the 14th June 2019.

CapitaLand Vietnam and Surbana Jurong have previously collaborated on Seasons Avenue. The landmark award-winning 1,300-unit residential project by CapitaLand Vietnam comprises four blocks of about 40 storeys each, with over 60 facilities for its residents. Surbana Jurong was the lead design consultant and the contract administrator for the project. Seasons Avenue had previously won the ‘Highly Commended Award’ at the Asia Pacific Property Awards and the ‘Best High-end Condominium, Hanoi’ at the Vietnam Property Awards. In June 2019, Seasons Avenue won the Green Mark Award by the Building & Construction Authority of Singapore.

CapitaLand Vietnam currently has two integrated developments in its portfolio.
