HÀ NỘI – Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hòa Bình has applauded the close cooperation between the court systems of Việt Nam and Laos, at both supreme and provincial levels, while receiving Chief Judge of the Lao Supreme People’s Court Khamphanh Sit Thi Dampha in Hà Nội yesterday.

The support of Việt Nam’s court sector to its Lao counterpart is a vivid manifestation of the special relationship between the two countries’ Parties and States, the official said.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always supports bilateral judicial ties, contributing to the development of each nation.

The Deputy PM asked the Lao court to continue implementing contents of co-operation agreements reached by the two sides, and organise visits and exchanges for Vietnamese and Lao judicial officials.

The Communist Party, State and Government of Việt Nam always do their best, in any circumstances, to preserve the traditional relationship and special solidarity between Việt Nam and Laos, he emphasised.

In reply, Dampha told his host that the Vietnamese and Lao court sectors have carried out a range of co-operation activities with a focus on training of judges, in the past and increased the exchange of delegations at both central and local levels.

Hailing the Vietnamese court sector’s assistance in personnel training, the guest said ten Lao court officials will be sent to Việt Nam to attend training courses at the Việt Nam Court Academy in 2018.

On this occasion, Dampha handed over an insignia of the Lao court sector to Deputy PM Bình to honour his contributions to the formation and development of the Lao People’s Supreme Court.

On Thursday, on behalf of Vietnamese Party and State leaders, Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court of Việt Nam Nguyễn Hòa Bình presented a first-class Independence Order to the People’s Supreme Court of Laos. — VNS
