HÀ NỘI — Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyễn Thị Phương Hoa has been assigned to oversee the ministry’s activities until the competent authority appoints a new minister as per regulations.

The assignment was made in a decision signed by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính.

The decision became effective on August 10.

Earlier, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Việt Nam found that Đặng Quốc Khánh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party delegation and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, former Secretary of the Party Committee of Hà Giang Province and head of the Delegation of Deputies to the 15th National Assembly of Hà Giang Province, has violated Party regulations in performing assigned duties and tasks, regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, regulations on the responsibility to set a good example, and regulations on preventing and combating corruption and other negative phenomena.

Therefore, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Đặng Quốc Khánh cease holding his position as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee. — VNS
