Ruckus Networks,an ARRIS company, joins Facebook's certified ecosystem to help connect theunconnected

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach - September 4 , 2018 -Ruckus Networks, an ARRIS company,today announced that it is joining Facebook's Express Wi-Fi Certifiedecosystem, a program that allows access point manufacturers to build Wi-Fihardware compatible with Express Wi-Fi. Operators participating in Facebook'sExpress Wi-Fi initiative will deploy the Ruckus virtual SmartZone™controllers and certified indoor/outdoor Wi-Fi access points in high-trafficpublic areas in Africa, India, and Indonesia. Ruckus products are currentlydeployed in Express Wi-Fi installations in Tanzania, Nigeria, and otherdeveloping nations.

 

The products feature Ruckus'adaptive antenna BeamFlex™ technology. The patented technique increases connectionquality and range, delivers better voice and data communication andsignificantly improves power efficiency.

ExpressWi-Fi is a solution to help operators and local entrepreneurs offer fast andaffordable internet access in public spaces. Express Wi-Fi seeks to helpoperators provide internet to those who don't have reliable or affordableaccess, while at the same time enabling local entrepreneurs to build a businessof their own. Facebook partners withlicensed local internet service providers or mobile operators to provide theExpress Wi-Fi service to local entrepreneur retailers that sell pre-paid Wi-Ficonnectivity to community residents. Customers can purchase fast, reliable andaffordable data packs via digital payments to access the internet on theExpress Wi-Fi network.
