HÀ NỘI — The second phase of the project Bookcase Thăng Long – Thousand Years of Civilisation has been accomplished with 40 new book titles released, enriching the information about the 1000-year-old capital of Việt Nam.

Following the phase 1 of the project conducted by Hà Nội Publishing House on celebrating the millennium anniversary of Hà Nội in 2010, the second phase has been launched since 2013 with various activities of systemising all fields of the development of Hà Nội that was formerly named Thăng Long.

The release of the new titles coincides with the 65th anniversary of Hà Nội's liberation day on October 10.

The publishing house has collected 9,000 foreign documents in English, French, Dutch twice as many as they had originally planned. The materials were then translated and compiled into books.

In total, there are 74 books with more than 150,000 pages, covering a wide range of fields like history, geography, economics, culture, society, literature, arts and reference.There are also more general books to suit readers of all ages.

Recently, the new works were displayed at the Hanoi Book Fair in 2019 held in Thăng Long Imperial Citadel attracting many readers. — VNS
