MOSCOW — Vietnamese Minister of Construction Nguyễn Thanh Nghị held a working session with Russian Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Irek Faizullin in Moscow on September 10, as part of National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn’s ongoing official visit to Russia.
Faizullin highlighted the growth of Russia's construction sector and its expanding needs for foreign experts, saying he is ready to discuss in detail with Việt Nam in this matter.
Nghị said he is impressed by Moscow's modern, well-structured and well-planned infrastructure. Reflecting on the successful cooperation between the two ministries since the signing of a memorandum of understanding five years ago, the official said the potential for further collaboration remains vast and untapped.
He presented several proposals to deepen this partnership, including strengthening joint work in construction management and housing policy; Russia's support in developing and refining Việt Nam's construction standards, regulations and norms; research on new construction materials; scientific research and application in fire safety for buildings; training, scientific research, production, and testing of energy-efficient materials; construction workforce; and encouraging joint investments by construction enterprises in both countries.
Regarding labour supply, Nghị suggested detailed discussions and the renewal of the five-year cooperation document between the two ministries to better align with current demands.
Nghị extended an invitation to Faizullin and his delegation to visit Việt Nam in the near future.
