HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has issued an official dispatch to ask ministries, agencies and localities to enhance network information security in the context that cyberattacks are increasing recently.
The dispatch pointed out that many agencies and localities have not allocated adequate resources for ensuring network information security, which poses threats to cyberspace security in Việt Nam.
More attention is needed to ensure network information security at the highest level, the PM stressed, pointing out that cyberattacks, especially ransomware, is predicted to be on the rise and might seriously affect socio-economic development.
Accordingly, review and evaluation about network information security must be carried out and reported to the Ministry of Information and Communications by the end of this month.
Financial resources must be allocated to security when developing annual and five-year information technology application plans, at least 10 per cent of the plans’ total expenses.
Checks must be carried out periodically to prevent risks to the system.
At the same time, communications must be enhanced to increase awareness of and enhance network security. — VNS
