Linh wins stage to southernmost area of Việt Nam

HÀ NỘI — Calytos Đồng Tháp’s Nguyễn Vũ Linh won the 27th stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament yesterday.

Linh crossed the line first in the 106km stage within Cà Mau Province, from Cà Mau City to Đất Mũi, the southernmost commune of Việt Nam, with a time of 2hr 33.22min.

It was the first time this national tournament set a stage here.

Nguyễn Huỳnh Phú Lộc (Military) and Đỗ Hùng Cường (Hà Nội) were second and third placed respectively.

Yellow jersey holder Nguyễn Thành Tâm of Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời An Giang suffered a flat tyre during the race but the accident did not affect his top position in the overall rankings.

Lê Nguyệt Minh of Minh Giang-HCM City kept the green jersey while the white jersey belonged to Ngô Văn Phương of Bảo Vệ Thực Vật An Giang. King of Mountain was Loic Desriac of Bikelife Đồng Nai.

In the team table, VUS-HCM City finished on top, followed by Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời An Giang and Domesco Đồng Tháp.

The next stage today is from Cà Mau to Kiên Giang on 115km. — VNS
