HÀ NỘI — Striker Nguyễn Xuân Nam and midfielder Hồ Ngọc Thắng found their new home just several hours before the Việt Nam’s transfer market closed yesterday.

Nam of Hà Nội T&T and Thắng from SHB Đà Nẵng decided to move to Sài Gòn FC for the second period of the V.League.

Nam has been widely known ever since he played in the young squad. He later played in the Lao League’s SHB Vientiane, where he was a shining star.

He ranked second in the league’s scoring table before Hà Nội T&T recalled him for the V.League. But he could not find a permanent position in the front line against foreigners Hoàng Vũ Samson and Gonzalo.

Now he will play for Sài Gòn under a loan contract.

Thắng did not compete in the first period because of injury. The former U19 and U23 player was part of the national team at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore last year. He plays well as both winger and forward.

The second half of the V.League begins on July 3.

After the first half, Hải Phòng are on top, with 29 points. Thanh Hóa and Đà Nẵng come second and third, respectively.

Sài Gòn are in eighth place, with 19 points. — VNS
