HÀ NỘI — Well-known Vietnamese designer Lê Thanh Hòa will transform a 50m-long luxurious cruiser into a ramp for his upcoming fashion show.

The event, which will be held on April 20 in Hạ Long Bay in the northern province of QuảngNinh, will introduce to fashionistas Hòa’s Spring-Summer 2018 Collection and is touted to be the designer’s best fashion show of the year.

Hoà said he had nurtured the idea of organising a show in the backdrop of the world’s natural heritage for a long time.

“I would love to contemplate the models displaying my designs in the vast open sea, among the imposing and poetic landscape,” Hòa said. All of his designs, worn by 15 models, will manifest the liberating and strong yet romantic elements of nature.

At the end of the show, visitors can enjoy dinner and spend the night on the luxury cruiser. The producers of the show expect to offer the visitors a new experience, combining fashion show, holiday and tourism.

Hòa said there would only be 100 exclusive invitees to the show, including renowned Vietnamese models - Miss Vietnam 2016 Đỗ Mỹ Linh, Miss Universe Việt Nam H’Hen Niê and first runner-up of Miss Việt Nam 2014 Nguyễn Trần Huyền My, all of whom have adorned Hòa’s designs in recent years.

The 33-year-old designer graduated with top marks from the Industrial Arts Department of the University of Architecture, Hồ Chí Minh City. He entered the fashion world after winning the third prize in First Collection contest, organised by Mực Tím newspaper, and the first prize in Pure Fashion Design contest in 2009.

Hòa has participated in major Vietnamese fashion shows, including Đẹp Fashion Show, Elle Show or Việt Nam International Fashion Week.
