ĐÀ LẠT — Lâm Đồng Province, home to the resort city of Đà Lạt, has issued a list of rules for tourists that includes a dress code and shopping guidelines.
The code of etiquette, drawn up by the tourism department, exhorts visitors to be “civilised, decent and responsible.”
They should wear suitable clothing, respect cultural differences, avoid littering and stealing, and queue up when shopping or buying tickets.
The purchase of undocumented goods and wildlife products is deemed “inappropriate.”
Hotels, restaurants and other service providers are warned not to overcharge, sell counterfeit or low-quality items or hassle customers.
The list is based on a code of conduct issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last March, and will be printed in Vietnamese and English in time for the annual Đà Lạt Flower Festival in late December, according to Tuổi trẻ (Youth) newspaper. — VNS
