HCM City — Hundreds of Vietnamese hockey fans came to a football centre on Sư Vạn Hạnh Road in HCM City to celebrate Olympic Day.

Olympic day is a hockey festival held all over the world annually on June 23.

The event marks the day on which hockey was introduced at the Olympic Games on June 23, 1894.

Vietnamese hockey lovers got a chance to play with the Việt Nam national hockey team and take part in music and educational seminars.

The activities held on Olympic Day are coordinated by more than 200 National Olympic Committees around the world.

According to Huỳnh Đại Phúc, captain of the Việt Nam team, the event’s goal is to promote participation in the sport regardless of age, gender or athletic ability and to get as many people as possible involved. — VNS
