ĐÀ NẴNG — A large number of missing passports stolen from a tour guide in Đà Nẵng have been found, on a rubbish dump.

Hundreds of cleaners and trash pickers helped to find 29 missing passports thrown into Đà Nẵng City’s Khánh Sơn landfill on Tuesday.

Lê Hậu, a local tour guide, was looking after passports belonging to Vietnamese people who were travelling to South Korea.

But on Monday the bag containing the passports was stolen on Lê Duẩn Street, Thanh Khê District, so Hậu made an appeal on social media for its return.

Suspecting those passports might be dumped, the management board of Khánh Sơn landfill – the city major waste processing plant allocated workers and trash pickers to search the area where garbage collected from Lê Duẩn Street was discarded.

Early Tuesday morning, 27 passports were found, the other two that had dropped on street were also recovered and returned to Hậu on the same day. — VNS
