As non-essential services are still banned to prevent COVID-19, some bars and pubs in HCM City have been turned into mini-marts selling fruits and vegetables.

Bùi Viện Street, dubbed “Western Street” in downtown HCM City, used to be the place where most foreign tourists came to experience the nightlife. But as non-essential services are still closed to prevent COVID-19, some bars and pubs have been turned into mini-marts selling fruits and vegetables. Residents living in the neighbourhood approve of the change, and local authorities appreciate such effort to remain in business amid the pandemic. VNS
