Book gathers stories of expats in Việt Nam

A book gathering the experiences, feelings and troubles of 21 expats in Việt Nam has been released nationwide.

HÀ NỘI — A book gathering the experiences, feelings and troubles of 21 expats in Việt Nam has been released nationwide.

They have different occupations and face different difficulties while living in Việt Nam, however, they share the same love and strong attachment to the country.

Entitled Stories of Expats in Việt Nam, the book tells the stories of foreigners from various countries such as the US, Russia, Mexico, Japan and France. They have come to as workers, teachers, journalists, veterans and writers. Some came for a vacation. Some came for work. Some came to learn about the history. But they all fell in love and stayed in the country.

The authors reflect Việt Nam’s integration and development. They see the society with curious and truthful eyes. They want to share their respect for people who are friendly, kind-hearted and peace-loving.

“The book shows the positive thinking and lifestyle of the people who are enthusiastic, humorous and sincere,” said Nguyễn Thanh Tùng from Nhã Nam Company, the distributor of the book. “They share interesting stories of people and country. They reveal difficulties to adapt the local culture and the happiness when they find love and home in this country.”

Indian educational expert Preetam Rai, one of the authors, said the vitality of Việt Nam comes from its young people, their desire to discover the world and their devotion to making a change in the country.

In the book, he shared stories relating to the young generation of Việt Nam. — VNS
