HCM CITY — The HCM City Department of Tourism is taking part in the Chengdu International Travel Expo (CITE 2018) in China, which ends today.

The department, which has a pavilion with the theme “HCM City – Explore All of Việt Nam”, is promoting Việt Nam’s culture and cuisine to Chinese travel agents and industry players.

The department targets more Chinese tourists, especially for business meetings.

The city’s Tourism Promotion Centre invited Chinese travel agents and media to attend the HCM City International Travel Expo from September 5 to 7 next year.

Vietnam Airlines’ branch in China said the company was evaluating the possibility of a new direct flight from Chengdu to HCM City next year.

The department, in coordination with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai, is organising the Vietnam – HCM City Tourism Roadshow on December 3 in Shanghai.

At the event, more than 150 Chinese travel agents, tour operators and media will meet Vietnamese tourism officials, who will promote corporate meetings and incentive travel to HCM City. — VNS
