HCM CITY — Sacombank has won Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards for 2019 in the Outstanding Retail Banking and Outstanding E-banking categories.
This is the second straight year it won the award for e-banking.
The award for retail banking is owed to its efforts to increase the number of transaction points, ATMs and points of sale, achieve steady customer growth and offer a wide range of modern products and services.
As of September 30 this year, the bank had deposits of nearly VNĐ408.9 trillion (US$17.59 billion) and loans outstanding of more than VNĐ290.9 trillion ($12.5 billion), year-on-year increases of 14.4 per cent and 13.1 per cent, respectively.
It has 570 transaction points in 50 out of the country’s 63 provinces and cities besides Laos and Cambodia.
It has nearly six million customers.
Sacombank won the e-banking award for its effective investment in IT infrastructure to ensure users’ security, impressive growth in the number of customers using its internet and mobile banking services and in the volume and value of transactions, and offering outstanding service quality and customer care.
Sacombank was one of the pioneers to offer e-banking, which it introduced in 2005.
Nearly 1.8 million people use its internet banking service and more than 1.6 million use its mobile banking.
The annual awards are given by the International Data Group and Vietnam Banks Association.
The awards ceremony was held in HCM City on November 27. — VNS
