Where would you spend hiding away from the heat of 2019 summer, getting stunned cold German beer and immersing in the air of thrilling festivals? It’s not the land of Germany, which is dozens of flying hours away from Viet Nam. It’s the beer festival B’estival 2019 held at Sun World Ba Na Hills in the centrally-run city of Da Nang.

Inspired by Germany’s worldwide Bavarian beer festival Oktoberfest, the B’estival at Sun World Ba Na Hills has become a symbol of the country’s top visiting destination every summer. This year’s beer festival – the fourth event that will last from May 5 to September 9 – promises to make “unlimited parties” for tourists in the summer once they come to Ba Na Hills.

In Ba Na Hills, visitors will not only enjoy a splendid French-style village, which own the golden prize for national urban planning, but also see themselves stand in the German land of Bavaria, which is highlighted by the Beer Plaza constructed of a giant golden beer barrel and ancient-German-style stores. The Beer Plaza is also the most outstanding, vibrant place of this year’s festival.

Nguyễn Lâm An, director of Sun World Ba Na Hills, said: “The B’estival 2019 will surely be more impressive to visitors than ever. We have made many new big changes in the way German beer and food are delivered to visitors and the way artistic activities are performed. Just come to the Beer Plaza – the main event of the B’estival – you will have the chance to live in the most outstanding, memorable and cheerful festival so far.”

The B’estival has overflown the Nui Chua – Ba Na Mountain and visitors can immediately feel the air when putting their first step there. Giant froth-blowing beer glasses, flying flags and unique carts made from beer barrels, straw and wheat will make visitors want to check themselves in the event and start feeling like they want to bottom-up right at the very first minute.

The most important thing that will make visitors feel most joyful during the B’estival Ba Na Hills 2019 is cold beer glasses provided by Germany’s 25 best brewery companies such as Budweiser, Paulaner, Kulmbacher, Monchshof and Benedictine. The appearance of such companies makes this year’s festival different from the previous events when tourists could only enjoy gold and black beer (Schwarzbier) from Germany suppliers.

The price of beer glasses at the festival will range from VND50,000 to VND190,000 (US$2.15-8.17) for each glass. Besides, Sun World Ba Na Hills offers a “buy 2 get 1 free” programme for visitors – meaning they will get one free glass of draught for buying two glasses of German beer.

But beer lovers can’t live without good dishes. To improve the flavour of cold German beer, visitors can stop by food stores at the festival. Meat and seafood are grilled instantly at the stores will turn visitors’ every sense on. In addition, fastfood is also ready to be served like hotdog, fried chicken, french fries, pizza and kebab halal. And of course, it would be a big mistake if special food of the Oktoberfest such as German sausage and salt bread is missing.

There are also artistic performances at B’estival Sun World Ba Na Hills to comfort visitors while enjoying beer and food. From 10.00 to 15.00 everyday, music performances of European and American bands namely Bryant Band, Gramophony Band, Latin Band and Twit Band will guarantee this year’s event is more exciting than even.

More especially, the Beer Plaza is designated this year as the land of the Moon Land performance, also known as the biggest summer carnival on Ba Na so far, with the participation of more than 200 international artists and well-known creativity teams from Viet Nam and other countries.

In the light of an international art show, the Beer Plaza becomes Summerland which is filled with Oktoberfest-style activities like Stomp dance, making the atmosphere of the B’estival 2019 crazier and more attractive to visitors.

Like the previous years, one of the most interesting things, which will draw visitors’ attention and make them feel like they are “part of the B’estival”, is the Oktoberfest-style costumes. Visitors can rent these costumes to characterise Bavarian girls and boys. Those costumes are always available for rent at the Beer Plaza so that visitors can rent them to characterise Bavarian girls and boys and experience the right style of a German beer festival, which are called Oktoberfest short (for men) and dress (for woman).

Drinking beer in the air of a typical German beer festival and dressing up with traditional costumes will definitely become the most memorable activities for visitors who love partying, beer and the atmosphere of the Oktoberfest.

Are a newly-changing B’estival 2019, a new “dress” for Ba Na Hills and colossal art performances enough to make you pack yourself up and head to Ba Na?
